Hi there! I’m Emma, a proud mum to three wonderful children: Caitlin, born in 2012 at Daisy Hill Hospital, Elliott, born at home in 2016, and Amanda, who made her grand entrance at home in 2022. My husband Simon and I live in the Southern Trust area, where our lively household includes three dogs, two cats, and a garden full of fish and bees.
As a trained Birth and Postnatal Doula, Antenatal Educator, Hypnobirthing Teacher, Babywearing Consultant, and Rewind Practitioner, my passion for supporting families through their birthing journeys stems from my own experiences. From a swift hospital birth with Caitlin to a serene home water birth with Elliott, and finally, Amanda’s magical en caul birth surrounded by family, to the wide range of births I’ve supported as a doula.
My journey hasn’t been without its challenges, including a non-viable molar pregnancy, and challenges in accessing home birth services, but these experiences have only deepened my commitment to helping others. Over the years, I’ve actively contributed to improving maternity services in Northern Ireland through Maternity Voices Committees, audit teams, and policy working groups. This involvement has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the complexities within our maternity system and help parents navigate the challenges.
When I am your doula, my goal is to ensure you feel confident, safe, and well-prepared for birth and life with your new baby. With my extensive training and hands-on experience, I offer a wealth of information and practical skills, from running skills workshops for birth partners to providing personalised antenatal education.
